FLOUR MILLS ARE ENTIRELY STAFFED BY KUWAITIS

Kuwait City: The Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company has been working hard to meet Kuwait's food security since its inception, and with this vision in mind, it established the Sabhan Central Bakery in 1979, fully equipped with the latest advanced technology, which to this day boasts of international renown and is considered the first and largest factory in the Middle East. During a visit to Sabhan Central Bakery, the daily met with the bakery's head, Eng. According to Sharifa Al- Jaber, the bakery offers a variety of European-style products such as bread toast, croissants, cakes, hamburger bread, rusk, and various other types of products, as it is the first in the Middle East to produce approximately 170 tonnes of these products per day. Eng Al-Jaber stated that the bakery is run entirely by Kuwaitis in the technical, engineering, and administrative fields, employs nearly 700 people, and operates on three shifts 24 hours a day. 


The bakery management is keen on and puts it at the top of its concerns by subjecting the Sabhan Central Factory and the other Arab bakeries of the Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company to international quality standards, in addition to the fact that the factory holds the ISO 22000 certificate, which classified it as one of the international bakeries.
