The Foster Care Committee in Dubai has released its mid-year report, showcasing significant achievements in child welfare and protection. Through meticulous evaluations and inter-agency coordination, the Committee ensures that foster placements are awarded only to the most suitable caregivers, providing safe and stable environments for vulnerable children. The process adheres to strict professional standards and leverages digital tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
During the reporting period, the Committee reviewed 287 cases referred by Dubai Courts, conducted 1,100 interviews, examined 574 criminal records of applicants, and performed 397 field visits. It also prepared 38 psycho-medical reports for children of 36 nationalities. Notably, 98.26% of the Committee’s recommendations received judicial affirmation, reflecting high trust in its expertise and decision-making.
H.E. Prof. Dr. Saif Al Suwaidi, Director-General of Dubai Courts, emphasized that the Committee’s work aligns with Dubai’s strategic vision prioritizing human rights and sustainable development. He highlighted the use of advanced technologies and professional standards to ensure fostering decisions are objective, child-centric, and family-focused. The Committee operates under Decree No. 7 of 2022, underscoring Dubai’s commitment to child protection.
