MEW DUES IN THE MILLIONS

Kuwait City: The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy owes various government agencies a total of KD246.9 million, but the State Audit Bureau (SAB) estimates that it still needs to collect KD480.4 million in payments.


The relevant departments have not been careless and are eager to collect payments, and the ministry has taken a number of steps to do so in accordance with Cabinet Resolution No. 1116. The most crucial steps, according to sources, include requesting cooperation from government organisations in the collection of dues and preventing the future accumulation of unpaid bills. According to sources, the ministry also wrote to the institutions in question to urge them to pay their bills.
