INDIANS TOP NUMBER OF DOMESTIC WORKERS IN KUWAIT, FIGURES ARE OUT

Kuwait City: According to the latest report, a quarter of the total expatriate workers in Kuwait are domestic workers and their number is about 655,000 at the end of the second quarter of 2022. It was 639,000 at the end of the second quarter of 2021, the local newspaper reported, citing official sources. This includes 315,000 males and 339,000 females.


Indians are at the top with 46.2 percent of domestic workers in Kuwait. The Philippines followed closely behind with 24.7 percent. Male domestic workers from India top the list of male workers with about 213,000, while Filipino workers lead the list of female workers with 161,000 workers. 95.1 percent of the total domestic workers are from 10 countries namely India, Philippines, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
