H1N1 VIRUS; MASKS MANDATORY FOR HEALTH WORKERS IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City:  The Ministry of Health said that respiratory symptoms are increasing with the beginning of the viral disease season. Every day hundreds of people get infected with H1N1 virus and seek treatment. Swine flu is spreading widely in the country. Sources in the health department said cases have increased as students returned to schools and gatherings increased.


Most of the cases that seek treatment at primary health centers and hospital emergency departments show similar symptoms like high fever, sneezing, cough and shortness of breath. Medical and nursing staff at health centers and public hospitals have been instructed by ministry officials to re-wear masks during work due to an increase in seasonal influenza in the last two weeks.
