INDIANS DOMINATE THE WORK FORCE IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: According to a report from the Central Administration of Statistics for the second quarter of 2022, there are approximately 655,000 workers (up from 639 thousand at the end of the second quarter of 2021), who are split almost evenly between male and female employees, with male employees totaling about 315,000 and female employees totaling about 339,000. 


According to a report, domestic workers make up 25% of all expatriate workers in Kuwait. Male employees from India outnumber all other countries by about 213,000 (210,000 at the end of the second quarter of 2021), while female employees from the Philippines outnumber all other countries by about 161,000 (137,000 at the end of the second quarter of 2021). India also has the highest percentage of domestic workers of both sexes at 46.2 percent, followed by the Philippines. 

According to the statistics, out of a total of 10 nationalities, four nationalities—India, the Philippines, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka—account for approximately 95,1% of all domestic workers, while the remaining six nationalities account for only 2.1 percent and the lowest 0.2 percent. Three African nations are among the top ten exporters of domestic labour, with Ethiopia accounting for 1.5% of the global labour force, followed by Benin (0.4%) and Sudan (0.2%).
