BUDGETS ARE BEING CONSIDERED IN ASSEMBLY; QUESTIONS HAVE BEEN RAISED ABOUT KARACAL AIRCRAFT DEAL

Kuwait City: The Kuwait National Assembly will hold its regular session on Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss the items on its agenda, with a focus on bills to link the budgets of the attached and independent authorities for the fiscal years 2022–2023 and ministries, departments, and government agencies. One item on the agenda is requests from some members to create parliamentary investigation committees to look into how the Public Authority of Industry distributed lots, as well as a request to charge the Parliamentary Public Funds Protection Committee with looking into how excessively industrial lots were distributed. Following that, the parliament will discuss a number of reports from the Parliamentary Budgets and Final Account Committee, as well as bills that link the budgets of attached and independent authorities as well as ministries and government departments for the fiscal year 2022–2023. 


Other reports of parliamentary budgets, such as bills to approve the final reports of some independent authorities for 2020–21 and a bill to transfer money among government agencies for 2021–22, are also included in the aforementioned item.
