10.8 TONS OF JEWELRY WERE BROUGHT IN KUWAIT IN NINE MONTHS

Kuwait City: According to the World Gold Council, the demand for jewelry in Kuwait has increased in the first nine months of this year. Compared to 10 tonnes during the same period last year, this year there has been an increase of 10.8 tonnes. There is an increase of eight percent on annual basis. Total demand for coins in the country increased by 22.22 per cent to 3.3 tonnes in the first nine months to September 30.


This jump is compared to 2.7 tonnes in the same period last year. In the third quarter of this year, demand for jewelery in Kuwait increased by 37 per cent year-on-year to 4 tonnes. As compared to 2.9 tonnes in the same period last year, demand for jewelery has grown by 5.26 per cent on a quarterly basis. It was 3.8 tonnes in the second quarter of 2022. Meanwhile, Kuwait's gold demand rose 11.81 percent to 14.2 tonnes in the first nine months of this year. It was only 12.7 tonnes during the same period last year.
