Kuwait City: The State of Kuwait has emphasised once more the significance of advancing and upholding human rights, stating that peace is a fundamental human rights principle. In order to create a sustainable world, attache Abdullah Al-Asfour said, "Seeking to enhance human rights will only come to fruition by cooperation and coordination among member countries, regional and subregional organisations with the UN agencies, government, and NGOs." In order to achieve sustainable development in a peaceful, secure, and safe world, he noted that UN organisations were constantly working to ensure that people around the world could exercise their fundamental human rights.

The State of Kuwait has reiterated its support for the UNHCR's efforts to assist refugees in returning to their countries of origin or settling in numerous other nations while highlighting the significance of refugee protection. Attache Rashed Al-Abhoul spoke to the third committee of the UN General Assembly on Wednesday night about the importance of protecting UNHCR employees, as 25% of them work in dangerous environments.

The relationship between Kuwait and the UNHCR, which this year celebrated the 31st anniversary of the establishment of its office in Kuwait, helped the UN organization's operations to better assist anyone suffering from armed conflicts or natural disasters. Around 100 million people, many of them from Arab nations, according to Al-Abhoul, have fled to safe havens as a result of armed conflict, violence, natural disasters, climate change, or violations of human rights. Meanwhile, he praised UNRWA for providing over five million Palestinian refugees with healthcare and educational opportunities.
