ESTIMATES SHOW THAT YOUTH CONSTITUTE MAIN SEGMENT OF KUWAIT'S POPULATION STRUCTURE

Kuwait City: Statistics show that the main segment of Kuwait's population structure is the youth. The figures released by the Public Authority for Civil Information make this clear. The percentage of those aged 24 and below is around 51.8. The rest or those aged 25 and above make up 48.2 percent. The youth block is about 779,000 citizens and the second block is 723,000. This includes 140,000 retirees and 473,000 citizens. 


According to the Central Statistical Bureau, 83.5 percent of citizens in the public sector are employed. It also provides indirect financial assistance to citizen workers in the private sector. There are about 366,000 citizens in the public sector. About 72,000 citizens are in the private sector. It had 73,000 workers in June 2021. The figures also show that the youth bloc, or those aged 24 and under, are 1.6 times more likely to be in the labor market or unemployed after excluding retirees.
