Failaka Island in Kuwait is a treasure trove of history, where different eras seamlessly blend together. With its abundance of archaeological areas, Failaka Island boasts an impressive 106 sites, each offering a unique glimpse into the past.
The oldest archaeological sites on the island date back to the Bronze Age and are known as the sites of the Dilmun dwellings, the ruler’s palace, and the Dilmun Temple. The most recent of them dates back to the beginning of the twentieth century AD, the rest house of Sheikh Ahmed Al Jaber, and includes the Hellenistic fort (third and second centuries BC). The name Failaka has always been associated with illustrious names in history, such as the Greeks, specifically Icarus and Alexander the Great.
