Lieutenant-General Salem Al-Nawaf, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, stressed the significance of rigorously implementing the law against individuals who breach the visit visa regulations that were recently introduced. Those who exceed the allowed one-month stay will be granted a one-week grace period initially. Nevertheless, failure to leave the country after settling the fine within the grace period will result in deportation for both the visitors and their sponsors.
According to ministry sources, 652 individuals who have violated residency regulations have already submitted requests to the Residency Affairs Departments in order to rectify their status. This comes after the Interior Ministry's recent decision to permit residency violators to regularize their situation by paying the necessary fines between 17 March and 17 June.
