Online fraud: Egyptian man loses 2,750 dinars

Sayed Abdel Hakim, a 30-year-old Egyptian man, experienced a devastating loss when his "lifetime payment" of 2,750 dinars vanished from his account within seconds. This unfortunate incident occurred after he unknowingly accessed a fraudulent website while attempting to pay his phone bill. 


Hakim explained that he had conducted a Google search to find the official website of his service provider, which would allow him to settle a bill of 50 dinars. To his dismay, he stumbled upon a deceptive site that closely resembled the genuine one. Oblivious to the scam, Hakim proceeded to enter his debit card details and the OTP number he received. Shockingly, a notification appeared on his phone confirming the withdrawal of his entire balance, amounting to 2,750 dinars.
