In the year 2023, a total of 618 instances of official document forgery were reported and subsequently forwarded to the judicial system. The rise in forgery incidents highlights the urgency for more stringent actions to combat counterfeiters. It is anticipated that the number of forgery cases will see a twofold increase this year as a result of recent governmental initiatives.
Following the establishment of a hotline for reporting, the Ministry has been inundated with numerous complaints concerning fraud and cases of dual nationality. Instances of forging educational, disability, and medical certificates, as well as driving licenses, health fitness certificates for expatriates, and other related offenses, have seen a significant surge.
