Ambassador of India to Kuwait inaugurated 10 days long Medical Awareness Campaign

Kuwait:  Indian Ambassador H.E Sibi George inaugurated “Know Cancer Better” a 10 days medical awareness campaign  organised by Centre For India Studies (CIS-Kuwait) in association with the Indian Doctors forum, Kuwait and Kuwait Medical Association in the virtual platform.

Ambassador emphasised that in todays world of information explotion  there is a need for accuracy of  knowledge to be imparted to the society in the most precisive manner .It is in this context that the Awareness Campaign becomes relevant and important. He applauded the efforts of Center for India Studies in Publishing the Pamphlet containing very important information’s of Cancer Awareness and need for spreading the message to mass.  Ambassador reiterated the continuing great service being rendered by the Indian Doctors in the medical landscape of Kuwait especially during the Covid Pandemic time. Ambassador emphasised the importance of peoples effort and need to be in closely associated with  Indian Embassy in  taking forward relationships to dynamic areas, urged for ideas and discussions that can promote Indo-Kuwait relationship to new heights. 

CIS President VibheeshTikkodi presided the function which was attended by Dr Sadeq Abu Zalouf  Chairman, Radiation Oncology, Kuwait Cancer Control Centre and Dr Amir Ahmed, President of Indian Doctors Forum Kuwait  as Guest of Honours.

Dr Sadeq Abu Zalouf imparted to the audience about various facilitates available for cancer treatment in Kuwait and stressed the importance of the campaign as it makes aware to the public how the early detection can save lives.

Dr Surendra Nayak, CIS Advisor released a pamphlet on cancer awareness, prevention and treatment by handing the same to Dr. Grover (Ex-President IDF Kuwait) that would be distributed to the attending organizations and other public platforms.

Dr.JuzerAli, Radiation Oncologist Kuwait Cancer Control Centre delivered the Key Note Address .

The mass medical awareness programme scheduled for 10 days is being attended by a panel of Specialist Doctors inclusive of Dr.Chithrathara, Dr. Sanjay Tiruttal, Dr.JithendraSethy, Dr.Susovana Sujith, Dr.Juzer Ali, Dr.Mohan Ram, Dr Abdul Rasheed, Dr. Arun Warrier, Dr.Asit Mohanty, Dr David K Simson, Dr.Madhu Gupta, Dr. Rifat Jehan, Dr.C.NMohananan Nair,  Dr.Jaisankar, Dr.Varun Rajan, Dr AsitMohanty,would address  addressing the community oriented programmes . Artistic Yoga &Pilates,Syro Malabar Cultural Association Kuwait,World Malayali Federation Kuwait,Blood Donors Kerala - Kuwait Chapter,Thiruvananthapuram District Expatriates Association (Texas Kuwait),Maharashtra Mandal Kuwait,MathrusamithiSevadarshanKuwait,Billava Sangha Kuwait,Telugu Kala Samithi Kuwait,Jamal Mohamed College Alumni Kuwait,Thrissur Association of Kuwait (TRASSK),SaradhiKuwait,BharatiyaPravasi Parishad (Karnataka Wing),St.Stephen's Indian Orthodox Church Kuwait,AmmaKuwait,Malayali Mom's Middle East (MMME) Kuwait,Overseas Indian Cultural Congress (OICC) Kuwait,Anjuman-e-Burhani Bohra Community Kuwait,BAPPS&Samarpan,TamilCommunity Association  have associated with Center For India studies for  specialized topics relating to cancer awareness during the campaign.

Mr. SreejithNair ,CIS General Secretary welcomed the gathering where Mr.Manikant Verma CIS Executive member declared the Campaign details. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. BijuNitoor (Cis-Jo-Secretary ) and the programme was handled virtually by Ms. Nisha Dileep. 

There was immense positive response received from the public for the inaugural event which shall put forward for the upcoming 10 days too
