Attack hits residential building in Buqa near Strait of Hormuz, two expatriates injured

A residential building in Buqa, near the strategic Strait of Hormuz, was targeted in an attack that left two expatriates injured, according to the Oman News Agency.

The building, which houses employees of a private company, sustained damage along with four vehicles parked nearby. Windows of a nearby house were also shattered due to the impact.

The incident comes amid rising regional tensions following recent hostilities involving Iran. A similar attack was reported in Oman after Iran allegedly targeted the United Arab Emirates despite a ceasefire agreement that came into effect earlier in April.

Iran has reportedly intensified missile and drone strikes as efforts continue by the United States to secure shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz. Defence systems intercepted three out of four cruise missiles launched toward the UAE.

In a related development, three Indian nationals were injured in a drone attack on an oil facility in Fujairah.

The US Central Command stated that American forces destroyed six Iranian boats that were targeting civilian vessels in the region.
