Modi Highlights India’s Digital Transformation at Paris Tech Summit

Paris: Narendra Modi highlighted India’s rapid technological transformation and growing innovation ecosystem at VivaTech 2026, positioning the country as a global hub for artificial intelligence, digital public infrastructure and technology-driven growth.

Addressing Europe’s largest technology event, Modi said 2026 marked a significant year for India-Europe relations following the conclusion of the India-European Union Free Trade Agreement. He said the agreement would strengthen trade, investment and cooperation in areas such as technology, talent development and tourism.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the launch of the India-France Year of Innovation, describing France as a key bridge connecting the technology ecosystems of India and Europe. He pointed to India’s achievements in building large-scale digital infrastructure, including the world’s largest digital identity programme and one of the largest digital payment systems.

Modi noted that India’s Unified Payments Interface now accounts for nearly half of the world’s real-time digital transactions and is increasingly being accepted internationally, including in France. He also highlighted the success of DigiLocker in supporting digital governance and public services.

Speaking about artificial intelligence, Modi said India believes AI should benefit all sections of society. “For India, AI means All Inclusive,” he said, stressing the importance of using technology to improve lives and promote inclusive growth.
