Kuwait Announces Road Closures on Riyadh Road Until August 11

Kuwait City: The General Directorate of Traffic has announced month-long traffic restrictions on King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Road (Riyadh Road) as part of a major road maintenance project.

The restrictions will come into effect on Sunday, July 12, and remain in place until August 11, 2026.

During the maintenance period, the right and middle lanes between the Third Ring Road exit opposite Khaldiya and the Fourth Ring Road exit leading to Kuwait International Airport will be closed to traffic.

Authorities also confirmed that the entrance and exit connecting Salim bin Ali Street to Riyadh Road in the Khaldiya area will remain closed throughout the project.

Motorists, particularly those travelling to Kuwait International Airport, are advised to allow extra travel time, use alternative routes where possible and follow all traffic signs and instructions to avoid congestion.

The roadworks are part of ongoing efforts to improve Kuwait’s road infrastructure and enhance traffic flow across the country.
