Kuwait Seizes Over 3,800 Counterfeit Branded Goods

Kuwait City: Kuwait’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry has seized more than 3,800 counterfeit clothing and footwear items during inspection raids on warehouses in two separate buildings as part of its ongoing campaign against fake branded products.

Inspectors from the Control and Consumer Protection Department discovered clothing and shoes bearing counterfeit logos of well-known international brands, which were allegedly being marketed as genuine products to mislead consumers.

The ministry said the seized goods violated intellectual property laws and trademark protection regulations, infringing on the rights of legitimate brand owners and undermining Kuwait’s efforts to combat counterfeit trade.

All counterfeit products were confiscated during the raids, and legal reports were prepared on-site. Authorities have initiated legal proceedings against those responsible.

The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to protecting consumers and intellectual property rights, adding that inspection campaigns targeting counterfeit products will continue across the country.
