Summer Rains Bring Relief Across Parts of the UAE

Dubai: Summer showers brought welcome relief to parts of the UAE on Thursday as rain fell in Al Qa’a near Al Ain, Fujairah and Khor Fakkan, easing the impact of the intense summer heat.

According to local meteorologists, Al Qa’a, south of Al Ain, received moderate rainfall, while Fujairah and Khor Fakkan experienced light drizzle. The rainfall resulted from the formation of convective clouds, which commonly develop during the UAE’s summer months and can produce localised rain and strong winds.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast partly cloudy skies across the country on Friday, with another chance of rain as convective clouds are expected to redevelop over the eastern and southern regions.

The NCM also warned that humidity will increase overnight into Saturday morning, raising the possibility of fog or mist, particularly in western coastal areas. Motorists have been advised to drive cautiously if visibility is reduced.

Winds are expected to blow from the southeast and northeast at speeds of up to 40 km/h, with blowing dust likely in exposed and open areas.

Authorities have advised residents to stay updated with official weather forecasts as conditions may change quickly.
