Hot Conditions Continue Across UAE as Mercury Nears 48°C

Dubai: Temperatures across the UAE are expected to increase on Monday before gradually easing during the rest of the week, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The NCM forecast partly cloudy to cloudy skies across the country, with south-easterly winds shifting to north-westerly during the day. Winds will blow at speeds of 10 to 25 km/h, occasionally freshening to 35 km/h in some areas.

Sea conditions are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

The highest daytime temperature is forecast in Liwa, where the mercury could reach 48°C. Temperatures are expected to rise to 45°C in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, 44°C in Ras Al Khaimah, Al Ruwais and Al Sila, and 43°C in Dubai, Sharjah, Fujairah and Delma.

Meanwhile, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain are expected to record highs of 40°C, while the islands of Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb and Abu Musa are forecast to see temperatures of around 38°C.

The NCM said temperatures are expected to ease gradually over the coming days, although hot summer conditions will continue across much of the country.
