Gold Holds Steady Ahead of US Fed Interest Rate Decision

World Capitals: Gold prices remained largely unchanged on Wednesday as investors awaited the US Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision and comments from Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh for signals on the outlook for inflation and monetary policy.

Spot gold was little changed at US$4,024.54 per ounce as of 0448 GMT, while US gold futures for August delivery slipped 0.4% to US$4,023.30 per ounce.

Other precious metals traded mixed. Spot silver rose 0.5% to US$57.41 per ounce, while platinum declined 0.9% to US$1,590.24 per ounce. Palladium also fell, dropping 1.1% to US$1,255.50 per ounce.

Investors are closely monitoring the Federal Reserve’s policy announcement and the central bank chief’s remarks for indications on future interest rate moves and inflation trends, which could influence global financial markets and precious metal prices.
