Kuwait City: The Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) has announced a major change to the distribution of domestic LPG cylinders, with the traditional plastic safety caps set to be removed from August 5.
The company said the move is part of the government’s environmental initiatives aimed at reducing plastic waste and promoting more sustainable practices across the country.
KNPC assured customers that eliminating the plastic caps will not affect the safety or quality of LPG cylinders. All standard safety inspections and quality checks will continue before cylinders are delivered to consumers.
The company advised customers to inspect the valve and safety seal before accepting a cylinder. If there are any signs of damage or irregularities, consumers should refuse delivery and immediately notify the relevant authorities.
KNPC said the new distribution method is part of Kuwait’s broader efforts to reduce plastic consumption while maintaining uninterrupted LPG supplies. The company also reassured customers that the change will not disrupt gas distribution services or affect the availability of domestic LPG cylinders.
