Kuwait City: Kuwaiti authorities have intensified inspections to remove illegal structures and encroachments on public property as part of a nationwide campaign to protect public spaces and improve residential areas.
A joint inspection team comprising officials from the Kuwait Municipality, the Environment Public Authority (EPA) and the Ministry of Electricity and Water carried out an enforcement drive in the Al-Shuhada area of Hawalli Governorate under the campaign titled “A Kuwait Free of Encroachments is More Beautiful.”
During the operation, authorities demolished a large iron fence that had been illegally erected near a residential property. Further inspections uncovered unauthorised workers’ accommodation and illegal sanitation connections that violated municipal regulations.
Hawalli Municipality said legal action was immediately initiated against those responsible for the violations. Officials reiterated that strict measures are being taken against the illegal occupation of public land, breaches of public hygiene regulations and violations of safety standards.
Ibrahim Al-Sabaan, head of the municipality’s violations removal department, urged property owners to voluntarily remove illegal structures before authorities take enforcement action.
He warned that those who fail to comply could face substantial fines and additional legal penalties.
The municipality said inspection campaigns will continue across residential areas throughout Kuwait in the coming days as part of ongoing efforts to safeguard public property and ensure compliance with municipal regulations.
