Kuwait is set to ban the online sale of tobacco products and related accessories, as part of new measures aimed at controlling tobacco use and protecting young people. The new regulations will also set the minimum legal age for purchasing tobacco products at 21 years.
Health Minister Dr Ahmed Al Awadi said the measures are included in Ministerial Resolution No. 237 of 2026 and will come into effect from January 2027. The ban will cover all types of tobacco products as well as accessories associated with their use.
Authorities said the new rules are intended to strengthen restrictions on tobacco sales and make it more difficult for young people to access these products. The regulations will also provide a clearer framework for monitoring the sale and purchase of tobacco products and enforcing age restrictions.
