Heavy Vehicles, Worker Buses Banned From Entering Abu Dhabi Island During Morning Peak

Heavy vehicles and buses transporting workers will be temporarily prohibited from entering Abu Dhabi Island during morning peak hours from August 31 to September 4, authorities announced.

The Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), an affiliate of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, said the restriction will be in effect from 6:30am to 9am throughout the five-day period.

The measure is intended to help regulate traffic movement and maintain smoother traffic flow on roads leading to and within Abu Dhabi Island during the morning rush hour.

Logistics support vehicles and vehicles operated by cleaning companies will be exempt from the temporary restriction.

Authorities urged affected motorists and transport operators to plan their journeys accordingly and take the temporary traffic measures into consideration during the specified hours.
