Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has opened an expanded bridge leading to Terminal 1 at Dubai International Airport, increasing traffic lanes from three to four. The upgrade boosts the bridge’s capacity by 33%, allowing it to handle 5,600 vehicles per hour.
The project, developed in coordination with Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects, aims to improve traffic flow, reduce travel time, and enhance the passenger experience. Despite construction, traffic movement was maintained throughout the project, which used innovative steel and concrete designs to accelerate completion. The expansion supports Dubai’s efforts to accommodate growing airport passenger volumes.
