Abu Dhabi Airports Surpass 33 Million Passengers in 2025, Setting New Record

Abu Dhabi Airports handled over 33 million passengers across its five airports in 2025, the highest annual traffic in the emirate’s history. The flagship Zayed International Airport (AUH) drove the growth, accounting for 98% of passenger traffic and emerging as the fastest‑growing mega airport in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region.

The record was achieved through network expansion, with 39 new routes and seven new airlines added during the year. AUH saw 8.59 million passengers in the fourth quarter alone, a 13.8% year‑on‑year increase, and crossed the 100,000‑passenger‑per‑day milestone multiple times. Acting CEO Ahmed Juma Al Shamisi credited the achievement to operational readiness, strategic airline partnerships, and continued investment in infrastructure, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s role as a global aviation hub.
