UAE Announces Early Spring Break for Schools and Universities

Authorities in the United Arab Emirates have announced an early Spring Break for students, teachers and administrative staff across schools and universities. The decision was confirmed by the UAE Ministry of Education and the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Officials said the move follows approval from the Education Human Development and Community Development Council and has been made as a precaution while authorities continue to monitor regional developments.

Under the previously announced 2025–2026 academic calendar, some institutions had scheduled classes until March 13, followed by a holiday period from March 16 to March 27, with classes expected to resume on March 30. With the new decision, the Spring Break has been brought forward.

Education authorities had earlier introduced distance learning across the country until March 6 after classes shifted online from March 2 to March 4 as a precautionary step amid regional tensions.

Meanwhile, Knowledge and Human Development Authority confirmed that private schools in Dubai will follow the same federal directive. The move ensures that education providers across the emirate align with the national policy regarding the revised Spring Break schedule.

Officials said the early holiday and remote learning arrangements are precautionary measures aimed at ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students and the wider education community while authorities continue to assess the evolving regional situation.
