Roads and Transport Authority has officially opened Dubai’s first smart bus station at Mall of the Emirates as part of the emirate’s push towards smarter and more sustainable public transportation systems.
The new facility is designed to improve passenger convenience, operational efficiency and connectivity between different modes of transport across Dubai.
Located next to Mall of the Emirates, the station directly connects Dubai’s public bus network with the Dubai Metro, allowing passengers to move more easily between transport services.
Authorities said the smart station offers round the clock digital and cashless facilities aimed at making daily commuting more flexible and seamless for residents and visitors.
The project forms part of the Roads and Transport Authority’s broader strategy to modernise public transport infrastructure through smart technologies and sustainable mobility solutions.
The station includes real time travel information systems, environmental monitoring technologies and solar energy powered solutions designed to improve operational performance and reduce environmental impact.
Officials added that the smart bus station supports Dubai’s long term sustainability goals while enhancing the overall passenger experience through technology driven services.
The initiative also reflects Dubai’s wider ambitions to strengthen integrated transport systems and encourage greater use of public transportation across the emirate.
Further smart mobility projects are expected to be introduced in the future as Dubai continues investing in innovation and sustainable urban infrastructure.
