Q Mobility has launched a new smart parking service in Abu Dhabi that allows motorists to pay parking fees automatically through their Darb app wallet, eliminating the need for manual payment methods.
The new system uses artificial intelligence and automatic number plate recognition technology to create a seamless parking experience. Parking sessions begin automatically when a vehicle enters a participating facility and end when the vehicle exits.
Under the service, parking charges are calculated and deducted directly from the user’s Darb wallet without the need to send SMS messages, use payment machines, scan QR codes or perform any manual action.
Officials said the Free Flow Paid Parking System is designed to improve convenience, reduce waiting times and simplify parking management. The initiative also removes the need for paper tickets and cash transactions while supporting Abu Dhabi’s wider digital transformation goals.
Q Mobility advised users to maintain sufficient balance in their Darb e-wallets to ensure smooth automatic payments and avoid parking-related fines.
The service is being introduced in phases and is initially available at selected multi-storey car parks and private parking facilities across Abu Dhabi. Authorities plan to gradually expand the system to additional locations across the emirate.
According to Q Mobility, the project reflects ongoing efforts to integrate smart infrastructure with digital mobility services and enhance the overall experience for residents and visitors.
The launch further strengthens Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading smart city by adopting advanced technologies that improve efficiency, sustainability and ease of travel.
