Dubai: Dubai Police has completed a comprehensive future foresight study aimed at identifying and preparing for emerging security challenges, drawing on the expertise of 507 security specialists from 30 countries.
The report, prepared by the Future Foresight Center at Dubai Police, examines 36 potential security challenges that could affect policing and public safety in the years ahead.
Brig. Dr. Hamdan Ahmed Al Ghazia, Director of the Future Foresight Center, said rapid urbanisation, demographic shifts and advances in technology are reshaping the global security landscape, making it essential for law enforcement agencies to anticipate future threats and plan accordingly.
The study explores how technological developments are likely to influence crime patterns and transform police operations. It also assesses a wide range of factors, including technological, social, economic, environmental and political changes, using a scientific and evidence-based approach.
According to Dubai Police, the findings will support the development of proactive security policies and help implement more flexible, innovative and future-ready policing strategies to address evolving challenges.
