Relief from Kuwait’s intense summer heat is expected from August 24, with temperatures gradually beginning to fall, according to the Al-Ujairi Scientific Center. The transition comes as the Qulaybeen season moves towards its end and the 52-day Suhail season begins. Suhail is expected to continue until October 14, bringing a gradual shift towards more moderate weather.
During the Suhail season, daytime temperatures are expected to begin dropping below 50°C, while nighttime conditions will gradually become less hot. The transition is expected to be more noticeable as the season progresses, offering some relief after months of extreme summer temperatures.
Southeasterly winds are also expected to reduce the intensity of hot desert winds while increasing humidity, particularly in coastal areas. The changing weather pattern could also increase the possibility of rainfall. The Al-Ujairi Scientific Center said the appearance of the Suhail star traditionally marks the gradual decline of surface heat and the beginning of cooler conditions.
