BMW Offers $500 in Free Charging Credits for 2027 Electric Vehicle Buyers

BMW is introducing additional benefits for customers purchasing its 2027 electric vehicle lineup, offering $500 in public charging credits along with a complimentary 12-month membership to the Ionna fast-charging network.

The incentive applies to buyers and lessees of the 2027 BMW i5, i7 and iX3. The charging credits will remain valid for one year from the vehicle purchase date, providing owners with additional savings on public charging.

The $500 benefit is divided into two parts. Customers can use $300 across more than 15 public charging networks, including Ionna, Shell Recharge, ChargePoint and EVgo. The remaining $200 is reserved exclusively for charging sessions at Ionna stations.

To access the offer, eligible owners must activate their accounts through the BMW app and use the BMW Charging Network for payments. Qualifying charging costs will then be automatically deducted from their available credit balance.

Alongside the charging credits, BMW is offering a complimentary one-year Ionna membership. This provides a 25 per cent discount on charging sessions across the network, which is expanding its fast-charging infrastructure.

What Makes the BMW i5, i7 and iX3 Stand Out?

The charging incentive adds value to BMW’s electric vehicle range, which features different performance capabilities and technologies.

Certain BMW i5 variants offer a driving range exceeding 300 miles, making the model suitable for longer journeys. The i7 and iX3 bring additional technological features through BMW’s Neue Klasse architecture.

Both models feature an updated digital interface, including BMW Panoramic Vision, a display system positioned along the lower section of the windshield to provide driving information within the driver’s field of view.

The BMW iX3 also offers a claimed driving range of more than 400 miles and supports charging speeds of up to 400 kW.

BMW plans to gradually introduce more of these technologies across its electric vehicle lineup, including future generations of the i5.

The latest charging incentive is designed to make public charging more affordable for new BMW electric vehicle owners while encouraging greater use of the expanding fast-charging network.
