Kuwait City: The decision to launch direct commercial flights from six countries, including India, has been linked to an increase in the airport's capacity, which is awaiting cabinet approval, a local newspaper reported, citing official sources. It is reported that those concerned will soon consider the request of the General Administration of Civil Aviation to increase the number of passengers on flights to Kuwait to more than 7,500 per day. The demand may be accepted within a maximum of two weeks. As per the decision of the Civil Aviation Administration, the capacity is currently fixed at 7,500 passengers per day for all airlines.

The cabinet did not back down from its decision to resume commercial flights to India, Egypt, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal. Kovid, meanwhile, will abide by the restrictions set by the Cabinet Committee on Emergencies.
