NEW RESEARCH SHOWS THAT PFIZER AND ASTRAZENECA VACCINES ARE NOT IMMUNE TO HEALTH

Washington: New research shows that Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines are not resistant to the corona variant Delta. A study by the University of Oxford indicates that both vaccines are less effective against delta compared to the alpha variant of corona.


The first phase of the study was conducted from December 1, 2020 to May 16, 2021. The study used 25,80,021 samples collected from 3,84,543 people over 18 years of age. Subsequently, 8,11,624 samples collected from 3,58,983 persons between May 17 and August 1 were tested.

In addition, the study found that people who were vaccinated after being exposed to corona were more immune. Those who have been vaccinated before the onset of corona are less effective.

Better immunity is obtained by taking the two-dose Pfizer vaccine. However, the study also found that Pfizer's immunity gradually decreased when compared to the two doses of AstraZeneca vaccine.
