Kuwait Arrests Retired Woman for Witchcraft and Fraud

Kuwaiti authorities have arrested a retired female citizen (F.A.T.) in the Mangaf area on charges of witchcraft, sorcery, and financial fraud. The Criminal Investigation Department acted on intelligence revealing she allegedly deceived victims by claiming to resolve family issues, break curses, and grant wishes—all for a fee.

After securing legal approval, detectives raided her home and confiscated herbs, stones, and other occult tools tied to her practices. The suspect has been referred for prosecution under Kuwait’s strict anti-witchcraft laws, which criminalize exploiting superstitions for monetary gain.

The arrest underscores Kuwait’s ongoing crackdown on sorcery-related scams, which often target vulnerable individuals. The Interior Ministry urged the public to report such activities, reiterating that fraudulent claims of supernatural abilities carry severe penalties.
