Kuwait City: The Terminal 2 project of the Kuwait International Airport will create 15,000 jobs for the Kuwaiti youth, said the Minister of Public Works and IT, Rana Al Faris. He added that the completion rate of the first package was around 54 per cent in August.

Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al Khalid came to assess the progress of the project. In response, Minister Al Faris said that the Terminal 2 building would make a huge leap forward in the airport's infrastructure and provide high international standard facilities.

Construction of Terminal 2, which is expected to cost $ 4.36 billion, is expected to be completed in the last quarter of 2022. Construction of the new passenger terminal began in May 2017. The six-year contract has been awarded to Turkish company Limak. It currently has the capacity to accommodate 13 million passengers a year. It could also increase to 25 to 50 million in the future.

The project includes 5,000 car parks, a modern hotel in the transit area, and a new terminal with 30 fixed bridges that can accommodate up to 51 aircraft at a time.
