Kuwait City: Public Works Minister Rana al-Faras said the new terminal at Kuwait International Airport will be fully operational, providing employment to 15,000 nationals. The minister and his delegation were visiting Terminal 2 under construction yesterday. Kuwait International Airport is set to create 15,000 jobs. The first phase of Terminal 2 is 54 per cent complete and will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities once completed, he said. The authorities said that the biggest renovation work in the country is underway and the construction is being done in full compliance with the green building standards.

The Minister added that the International Air Transport Association (IATA) wants to take the airport project up to A grade ranking based on its services and is taking steps to that end. When completed, the new terminal will have parking for 5,000 cars, a capacity to handle 25 million passengers a year, a modern hotel in the transit area and 30 fixed bridges to accommodate 51 aircraft at a time, officials said.
