Kuwait City: Lawyers have criticized the Manpower Authority's decision to impose a 500 dinar fee and health insurance to renew the work permits of expatriates who have not graduated from university after the age of 60. Experts say the decision is unconstitutional and a violation of international human rights treaties signed by Kuwait.

From a constitutional point of view, this decision is wrong. Fawaz al-Jadai said. International Law and Human Rights Professor Dr. Khalid al-Yaqout had a similar reaction. He further added that this was a violation of Article 7 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and that all were equal before the law and should not be discriminated against.
