The United Nations says that 72 drivers contracted to convey philanthropic guide have been captured in the conflict torn north of Ethiopia.

It said that the drivers, who were working for the World Food Program (WFP), were confined in Semera, capital of the Afar district.

The UN is addressing the public authority to set up why they were halted.

The conflict in Ethiopia has caused a monstrous helpful emergency, with in excess of 5,000,000 needing help.

The city of Semera is an organizing post for help trucks attempting to arrive at the adjoining district of Tigray, where the contention erupted last year and where the UN says 400,000 individuals are residing in "starvation like conditions".

Many trucks are accepted to be trapped in the city, kept from taking the main practical overland course into Tigray.
