Houston: After a nine-year-old boy was trampled during the event and died of his injuries, the death toll from a lethal crowd surge at a rap concert in Texas has risen to ten, according to a lawyer for the victims.

Hundreds of people were injured on November 5 in Houston during a performance by hip-hop artist Travis Scott at the Astroworld Festival when concertgoers were crushed against barriers, unable to move or breathe as the crowd pressed toward the stage.

Attendees said it was difficult to pick them up and evacuate them because some fell and others tumbled on top of them, crushing the bodies beneath. The density of the crowd closer to the stage made it difficult to pick them up and evacuate them.
Ezra Blount, nine years old, suffered serious injuries and was placed in a medically induced coma while doctors fought for his life.
