KUWAIT HAS THE SECOND HIGHEST NUMBER OF MIDDLE-INCOME FAMILIES IN GULF

Kuwait City: Kuwait has the second highest number of middle-income families in the Gulf. Saudi Arabia is number one. The list was compiled by the Oxford Institute of Economic Studies in the UK. The number of middle-class households is a key factor in increasing local market potential, the report said. Sources said that the basis of the foreign direct investment strategy in the Gulf countries is the modernization of the business sector. 


She added that the focus in the Gulf countries and the Middle East is on improving the business environment and reducing regulatory burden. At the same time, Kuwait ranks last in the Gulf region in implementing policies that are capable of improving the business environment and facilitating business operations. Despite the need for a better economic plan, Kuwait lags behind its neighbors. Foreign direct investment in Kuwait also declined. In this regard too, the country ranks last in the Gulf region.
