Hiring Filipino domestic staff might be quite expensive

KUWAIT CITY:  The cost of hiring domestic employees has increased dramatically, increasing the burden on Kuwaiti citizens. Following the COVID-19 epidemic, the concerned state authorities' regulatory measures failed to produce results in the labour market, resulting in a rise in citizen and recruiting bureau complaints. Citizens emphasised that the recent initiatives have failed to solve the rising scarcity, as they struggle to find a domestic helper due to high pricing and an increase in demand vs a drop in availability.

Citizens and recruiting agencies complained primarily about the cost of bringing in employees from the Philippines, as the contract value for each of them ranged from KD 1,700 to KD 2,000. The offices are no longer available.
