KUWAIT: Kuwaiti Health Minister Sheikh Dr Basel Al-Sabah said yesterday that despite the Omicron variation of COVID-19 spreading to numerous nations, no instances of the strain have been detected in Kuwait.Sheikh Basel confirmed that the ministry's processes in this regard were extraordinary even before the occurrence of this mutation on the sidelines of the opening of the Al-Funaitees Medical Center.Kuwait's health policies and procedures had stopped the virus from spreading among its inhabitants and residents, according to the minister."We strongly advise everyone to continue wearing their masks in enclosed locations, get vaccinated, receive the third booster dosage, and complete their PCR testing," he stated.He went on to say that even with the country's high vaccination rate, the number of cases will climb if the new variation spreads, which is why "we need to enhance our efforts."
