Kuwait : The Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) is looking into the prospect of reverting to its past practices of only allowing 'authorized categories' to bid on government contracts.
According to CAPT insiders who spoke to Al-Rai, the trend is to allow limited participation in public contracts, as was the case in the past, and that this trend will prevent unclassified enterprises from competing.
According to the sources, the new policy will be introduced at the start of the new fiscal year (April 2022), and it would force unclassified enterprises to seek categorization based on the documents they submit if they want to participate in government tenders in the future.
