Kuwait : Abdulaziz Al-Ali, Director-General of the Federation of Domestic Labor Recruitment Offices, stated that the local market is suffering from a severe shortage of domestic workers, putting the figure at around 80%.Al-Ali told that the Ministry of Interior and the Public Authority for Manpower are currently looking for new markets to recruit domestic workers and have a history of signing memorandums of understanding with African countries.According to Al-Ali, the offices are suffering from a lack of applications despite the urgent need because many domestic labour exporting countries have imposed restrictions and their workers are hesitant to come to Kuwait. He explained that discussions with Kenya about hiring skilled and domestic workers are currently underway, and that this should result in a way out of the crisis.
