NEW ERA OPENS IN PANDEMIC CONTROL IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: The Kuwaiti Cabinet has lifted the majority of coronavirus prohibitions, ushering in a new era and approach to the pandemic. The move comes after Kuwait successfully weathered a recent wave of infections and amid increased optimism about the country's health position due to a rise in the number of immunised people.

The Cabinet, led by His Highness the Premier Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, agreed on Monday to lift social distancing requirements in mosques, public transportation, cinemas, theatres, and banquet halls.

According to a statement read out by Foreign Minister and Minister of Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah during the Cabinet meeting, it also lifted the prohibition on in-person events such as conferences, training courses, weddings, and funerals.

It permitted unvaccinated individuals to go overseas and attend malls and shopping centres. Furthermore, the Cabinet waived the requirement of weekly PCR testing for unvaccinated pupils under the age of 16 who wish to attend classes in person. It also reduced the quarantine requirement for kids who had a positive PCR test or displayed viral symptoms. The Cabinet eliminated pre-departure, post-arrival PCR testing, and home quarantine requirements for immigrants who received three doses of Kuwaiti-approved immunizations. The double-jabbed newcomers, on the other hand, will be free from the pre-departure PCR test simply because they must still be quarantined for seven days after entering the nation, but they can cease the quarantine at any time if the PCR test is negative.
