Local authorities have quickly responded to a distressing incident that occurred along the shores of the Shuwaikh region. A significant number of dead fish were discovered scattered across the beach, stretching from the Petroleum Corporation building to the National Assembly building.
Marzouq Al-Azmi, Deputy Director of the General Authority for Agriculture for the Fisheries Sector, has shed light on the situation, acknowledging the limited scale of the fish mortality near Al-Salam Beach and Shuwaikh. He pointed out various factors contributing to this phenomenon, such as environmental stressors like rain outlets, red tide occurrences, and the deterioration of seawater quality due to human activities.
