Expat remittances from Kuwait experience a significant decrease of 28.47%

In 2023, there was a significant decrease of 28.47% in the value of remittances sent by expatriate workers in Kuwait. According to the Al-Seyassah daily, the remittances from Kuwaiti expatriates amounted to approximately 3.867 billion dinars ($12.581 billion) last year, compared to 5.406 billion dinars ($17.588 billion) in 2022. The Central Bank of Kuwait's statistics reveal that the deficit in the net value of current transfers abroad, known as the secondary income account deficit, decreased to 3.97 billion dinars in 2023, as opposed to 5.48 billion dinars in 2022.
